Human Busters
Human Busters is a dark workplace comedy following a group of lazy, demotivated Ghostbusters who take on a job thats way more personal than expected. What started as a routine call spirals into an encounter with their recently deceased coworker and friend Matthew who died from an eating disorder that nobody cared to act upon. And coming to realize that they have possibly been causing immense suffering to the afterlife, leads the ghostbusters to try to make things right.
Matthew’s Diet Explained
Rookie, Edwards, and Gladwell joke about their coworker Matthew, who’s gone on a strict kale and quinoa smoothie diet after a rough breakup with his ex, Mia. Rookie tries to raise concern, suggesting it sounds like an eating disorder, but he’s immediately brushed off by Gladwell who claps back with “I think he’s just trying to get out of work.” Edwards tries to chime in looking up the eating disorder but mispronounces “Anorexia” as “Analexia,” which causes Gladwell to have neuron activation thinking “Analexia” is a girl and wondering if she’s bad. This derails the conversation and burying the concern. But when the Ghostbusters finally track down the ghost haunting a classroom, it’s Matthew, calm, chill, and very dead. Rookie, seeing his dead friend says without skipping a beat, “Huh I guess that diet really worked out for you.” So to put everything together, Matthew breaks up with his ex and tries to improve himself, but accidentally gets anorexia in the process and dies, and his coworkers simply don’t care enough to show the urgency for his suffering. They only care once Mr T actually kills him by busting Matthew.
